Toms now has eyewear! I was introduced to the Toms movement a few years back and I absolutely loved what they stood for! If you aren’t familiar with the brand, Toms is a for-profit a company founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie, an entrepreneur from Arlington, Texas. Their business model has been referred to as the “one for one concept” business model, referring to the company’s promise to deliver a pair of free, new shoes to a child in need for every sale of their retail product. The countries to which the free products are sent have included Argentina, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Haiti, Rwanda, South Africa, and the United States.
Toms expanded their brand and now sells eyewear as well in a similar philanthropic fashion as their shoes. For every pair of eye wear they sell, part of the profit is used to save or restore the eyesight for people in developing countries.
Each pair of eyewear has a stripe and a significant meaning. Every strip tells a story:
The front part of the temple represents you –
a pattern and color that you chose.
The stripe in the middle is TOMS.
The color tips represent the individual
whose sight you help restore.

9 Fall Handbags Under $100, how fab is that?! I just found this fabulous article that was written for The Average Girl’s Guide by Tara, who blogs over at Mix and Match Fashion and she wrote this really nice article showing readers where to find super stylist and cute handbags all under $100. Most of the time we have to hunt down really good deals but Tara did all of the work for us and gave us a quick go to guide to find 9 Fall Handbags Under $100!
Now, I know NYFW is wrapping up but most of the designers ruling the runway aren’t necessarily the most affordable so I thought I would post something that every #fabandfly girl could afford. After some searching, I ran across Tara’s article and I thought it would be the perfect post for a Sunday.

Who Rocked the Black Thing High Givenchy Peplum Dress Better, Kim Kardashian or Ciara? I was very shocked when I found this picture of Ciara from the Spring 2013 Givenchy Paris Fashion week from earlier this year. It’s interesting because her sometimes bestie, Kim Kardashian wore the identical dress, well, almost identical, to the Fall Givenchy fashion show for Paris Fashion week a few days ago. It had a few slight variations of course. Maybe they thought no one would notice. The creative director for Givenchy, Ricardo Tisci obviously didn’t want them walking around with the exact same dress so it looks like the variations are subtle but obvious.
Kim actually had shear paneling showing her new mommy cleavage and Ciara’s was partially see through with sheer side panels and partially sheet sleeves and his signature a peplum top. Ciara’s split was a bit higher than Kim’s. Even though Ciara is much taller than Kim, I think her slit show much more leg.
Both ladies looked sexy, but I would like to hear your opinion of what you think. I think Kanye’s bestie Ricardo Tisci could have put them in different dresses entirely versus just changing some of the detail. I wonder if Kim knows? I mean, she did hang out with Ciara during Paris Fashion Week back in March so I’m assuming she does.
This spring and summer we’ve watched the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ciara and LaLa, Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Chastain strut their stuff in these super fab Givenchy Knee-High Sheath Boots. When I first saw them, I Kim was wearing the black ones with the gold shark lock with a short leather skirt in Hawaii with her boo, Kanye West, and from the looks of the photo, it was super hot outside. So, unfortunately I wasn’t feeling them all that much because of the surroundings. I’m not a fan of leather and tall boots in the summer time. But hey, that’s just me. It just didn’t seem like appropriate attire. But now, they’re totally season appropriate. I think these are best paired with something short, either shorts or a cute skirt or with a cute pair of skinny jeans.
So far I’ve seen them in black, tan, brown and even a suede and leather version, with a few slight variations. The red pair, however hasn’t seemed to be as popular as the other colors like tan or black but the red is by far my favorite. Brandy actually rocked the red pair back in Sept/2012 for a performance when she released her Two Eleven album. She looks cute. (pics below) Continue Reading →
Solange Knowles “Lovers in the Parking Lot” is actually a really dope song. I’m loving the tempo and I’m loving the cameos. I’m feel her old soulfulness. It’s so nice and refreshing. Go Solo! We’re routing for you girlie! #fabandfly
Ted Baker has been around for quite some time. In my opinion, they were the go to designer when you want tailor styled suits, nice shirts and unique ties. I was always a fan of the loud colorful ties even back in the early 2000′s. I use to do some personal shopping for an author and I would always incorporate Ted Baker in his selections becauase I knew that if he would took the time to actually wear each item and feel the fabic, the would love it. I always so busy in the men’s department, I had totally forgotten that they had a collection for the savvy lady too!
This new women’s Fall/Winner Collection has some pretty amazing pieces. It was very difficult for me to decide which piece I wanted to write about since they are all so far!
So, I selected this sexy HAKKE – Wrap playsuit…it similar to a romper. But way sexier. This HAKKE – Wrap playsuit comes in a few colors so far. Fushia pink, Black and like a cobalt blue. Really nice rich colors. If y0u’re kind of reserved and mellow, the playsuit in black is just for y0u. I personally will be rocking the pink or blue one….probably pink though!
- Front wrap playsuit
- Three quarter sleeve
- Waist tie fastening
- The model wears a size 2 and is 5’9″
Ladies, in case you weren’t aware that Ted Baker made clothing for us, it isn’t too late, check out the 2013-14 Fall/Winner line here. It’s pretty exquisite.
Now, this doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about the men, guys you will always have an amazing selection to choose from Ted Baker. I spotted beautiful leather jacket that I absolutely adore. This is the perfect leather jacket for Winter.
WILDONE – Biker leather jacket
Ted Baker is also offering free shipping from now until Sept 25th! Don’t miss this chance to use this limited time offer! The free shipping promo code is TED18SEP.
Gianvito Rossi. Absolutely beautiful. This Geometric Cutout Bootie Sandal from the Fall/Winter 2013-14 line is to die for. I saw both of these on Barney’s website and couldn’t decide which one I wanted to post about, so I asked my friend, Ja’Miel, which he thought I should post about and he suggested I write about both! Which was a fantastic idea, because both are so fly. Why choose one when you can have both, right? Each sandal is a suede open toe bootie sandal designed with geometric cutouts and contrast smooth leather insets. Finished with a silver-tone back zip.
Since Fall is practically here already every fab and fly chick needs some really fly booties for Fall. I definitely needed to share these. Now these aren’t for the faint at heart. You will need to open your purse pretty wide for either of these purchases, but Gianvito Rossi is an amazing designer and I think it’s worth it. I would personally rock these summer, spring or fall and maybe even winter as long as I had tights.

Skateboarder Stevie Williams released a new blue Supra, accurately named S1W: Kind Of Blue. His signature S1W mid top sneaker is a powerful mixture of street fashion and high performance skateboard footwear. On the board, you’ll notice the comfort and responsiveness immediately thanks to the unique SUPRAFOAM footbed in the cored out cup sole that is thinner at the toe for increased board sensitivity, yet thicker in the heel for comfort and impact protection. Regarding the style—as Stevie likes to say, “It’s a dope shoe that looks good on and off the board.” Two new S1Ws—studies in the key of blue—have been added to the collection: Continue Reading →
